The Landon Bay Centre with its campground, walking trails, Rosette Pavilion and recreational facilities, as well as environmental, cultural and children's programs is operated by The Barbara Heck Foundation. It was established to honour the pioneer Church leader, Barbara Heck, who lived during the formative years of Upper Canada .
The Foundation is a registered charity. The directors are all unpaid volunteers. The proceeds from camping and trails go towards maintaining the facilities and programs. The Mission of the Foundation is to “protect and preserve the rare and valuable natural assets of the Landon Bay property, its environs, and the 1000 Islands, so that our generation and generations to come, may learn about and appreciate our unique relationship with God's creation, and the need to live in harmony with it”. |
